Mad Titan's Shadow Playthroughs

vs Ebony Maw

Spider
Woman - Justice / Aggression + Nightcrawler - Protection vs The Black Order (Avengers Tower Defense)

Proxima Midnight & Corvus Glaive
This reminds me of the Wrecking Crew, how they tag-team, and they have their own schemes.  BUT, you can't kill one, until both are at 0 Hp.  We really liked the choices you have to make.  You definitely need a protection hero.  If you don't defend CG, then he damages the tower.  Then PM gets +2 ATK, or she does more damage to the tower.  We let them hit the tower a few times, which caused the tower to be weakened.

Two main schemes:
This was fun to handle.  We kept both pretty low, but some crisis side schemes came out and slowed us down.  Eventually, one flipped -Boom- our Avengers Tower was flipped to damaged.

Spider Woman
Spider Woman did great!  She really leaned into playing multiple aspect cards to boost up.  She wants to thwart and do damage every round.  She's very versatile.  She hit several stuns and confuses.  Very helpful.  Deft Focus came out mid game, and she really hit her stride.

Nightcrawler
We have BAMF!  He was perfect for this scenario.  He blocked a ton of damage.  Kurt's Cutlasses came out early, and the Armored Vest came out to give him 5 DEF.  He ended up with 2 retaliate.  Defense was no problem.  Rogue came out and touched Spider Woman after she made a 6 ATK --which gave her 8 damage.  That was cool, but halfway through, his nemesis came out - Azazael.  He's annoying because he's like Nightcrawler in that he keeps teleporting back into play after you beat him.  Very thematic.

Hulk - Aggression + Captain America - Leadership vs Thanos

Thanos
Sheesh!  He hits like a tank.  Cap got hit for 8 one round; Hulk got hit for 7.  Thanos has tons of activations: Armor, Helmet, Steadfast, Stuns, Discards.  The only thing which saved us was that he has few minions.  We tried to thwart, but we had to flip to heal.  Hulk opened the game with Hulk Smash!  Captain America was on his heels trying to get some allies out.  I think he may need a Make the Call in his deck to help out.  We passed by a few opportunities for board control, in favor of rushing the damage.  In the end, Hulk's damage was enough to make this pay off.  Cap got a key Avengers Assemble in there as well for some big damage.  I'd call this a medium rush strategy.  We had some board control, but mostly leaned into hitting the Titan.  This was a super thematic game!

Main Scheme
Oh no!  Hulk got confused!  LOL.  We laughed at that.  Once again, these schemes didn't look like trouble until some side schemes came out and we had to flip.  We thought we had this under control, then BOOM, the first scheme flipped.  Very tough.

Hulk
If you're going to rush, Hulk is a good pick.  The home-rule cards were great.  Not a single bad card in the bunch.  Hulk was definitely a crowd pleaser.  Hulk got Unshakeable out early and blocked a stun.  That was nice.  After a couple big hits, he got his recovery up to 6 and played Recuperation to heal.   I forgot that I added a piercing kicker to Crushing Blow (for an extra resource), which makes it exactly the same as Piercing Strike, except you use it when you want it.  Hulk broke two toughs on Thanos with his cards.  The home-rule Banner side is much more fun, and interesting.  Hulk is now this dual-identity, with 4-cards and he has to discard out of rage, then Banner gets 6 cards and he gets to choose an extra while controlling his deck.  The back and forth is really more fun to play.

Captain America
Man, normally I just defend until he has some allies out, but -whew- Thanos hits hard!  Cap has a hard time coming back from being at 1 hp.  Steve's Apartment and Captain America's Helmet suddenly became amazing cards.  Shield Block was a game changer for Steve.  Cap's allies did a ton of thwarting, and came up with clutch damage at the end.
